Well a few days ago we just stopped getting hot water. The gas boiler doesn't seem to kick in anymore when I run the hot water tap, it used to do this for a bit and i'd just have to top up the pressure but now that doesn't even work.

Also I was heating the oven up the other day and just heard a massive bang, and turns out the fuse had went! So I swapped it with a different fuse in the house to make my dinner tonight and I left the oven to heat up and it's still cold even though it's all on and the fan is spinning.

A horrible shambles of a flat, can't wait to move out in June general crappy build quality, really dodgy built kitchen and now this. I'll have to call the rental company tomorrow, and they better be quick in fixing it.

Anyway just thought i'd rant!

Ah know how you feel; our house is rife with problems: Damp everywhere, strange compartments and sealed off spaces where corpses are piled in, the microwave that was there with the house was rusted through leaking radiation everywhere (cooking everyone in the house), the lights in the hallways keep going out, the fuses haven't been checked in 6 years, you can get it a lot of the rooms with a sharp shove of the door, the front door is pointless, there's a shed out back full of asbestos, we live next door to a brothel/crackhouse, kitchen is awful, water never heats or takes ages to heat up - meh.

It's good to rant sometimes, gets all that stuff stored up inside out into the open. :)

I've had the oven one before ... what's probably happened (assuming its an electric fan oven) is the heating element has gone which in turn tripped the fuse. Replacing the fuse will allow the oven to come on but the oven will not heat up.

I had to get someone out to fix mine, (replace the part)

Try turning the heating on for half an hour, then turn the hot tap on. it might be a sticky valve.

Yeah I guessed that when I came back to it after sorting the fuse and it wasn't heating up. The top oven is working but its kinda crap. I'll call the rental agency tomorrow and tell them about the no hot water thing as well. They'll probably start to think we're just damaging their flat for the fun of it.

Yeah, that's what I said when we figured it out.

At first we thought it was a hostel - but the amount and variety of people the keep coming and going, the state of the house, the police who often go there, the fact that while walking past I happened to catch a glimpse of an orgy in some kids bedroom, and other such things kinda makes us wonder.

Well at least you didn't have to travel far.

Make sure you find out what their service time is on something important like a cooker. And don't just leave the problem with them, be sure to call for progress reports at least once a day (with something like a cooker I'd be inclined to call early morning & late afternoon).

Glad I don't rent anymore, my house was a pain in the ass, kitchen didn't fit properly either to say the least, oven didn't work, light bulbs breaking every week guaranteed and honestly our neighbor was a crack dealer, had random people knocking on our door in the night asking for it, and you should have seen some of the people that went in there! and the worst thing was we had some mice, terrace house so they kept coming from next door regardless how many we killed.

And now I live with my parents.... even worse!

I have the stomache virus. It really isnt pleasent :(

im actually scared that i might have it now... if there anything i can do to prevent it getting worse? iv tried sake btw..

And get well soon :(

EDIT: i think it might have been a false alarm, im feeling better after some good food :)
