Begins tomorrow. Am leaving mine at about 10 to get down to the ground early for Liverpool Man U tomorrow. Should be a great day and am looking forward to the fixture a lot- mostly the beers before and after but that's another story :)

The real football adventure is my trip to Lisbon to watch Liverpool vs Benfica which will start on Monday night. Flying over to Murcia on Monday from liverpool airport then driving across to Seville (approx 6 hour drive) with 2 mates on Monday night. Stayover in Seville, bit of a party but taking it easy as we have to leave Tuesday morning early to get across to Lisbon (another 6 hours drive approx.) Just need to book our hotel in Seville yet.

Tuesday- watch the game, big night out, stay over in Lisbon then drive back to Seville to catch the plane home. All in all over 1000km of driving  and 18 hours of travelling (Including flights and getting to L'pool airport at this end) just to watch 90 mins of football! The reason I am taking a route Michael Palin would be proud of- flights direct to Lisbon went up to around 400 quid on the dates I am going, mine are costing me less that 150.Mad? Yes. Worth it? Undeniably.

Will post some pics and a diary of my road trip when I get back. Best thing is, I only decided this afternoon when I got offered a spare ticket. Now how do i break this to Mrs Youstolemyname?

just got back about 10 mins ago to a bit of grief off the missus. The bottle of olive oil hastily grabbed at duty free seemed to calm her down a bit tho!

Was exactly 1000km to the marriott hotel in lisbon from murcia. We had a snowball fight in the sierra nevada on the way! Lisbon was a great city, Benfica fans were very hospitable and the stadium fantastic. Shame about the result, but we didnt deserve to win to be honest.

Am way too tired to do a full report on my trip now but will hopefully upload some pics and stuff tomorrow :)
