Well who was I kidding, no such thing as a "forever PC" when 4 years later there's hardware out there that runs crazily faster and better

Previous build here

But here we go again...
  • AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D
  • Gigabyte AORUS GeForce RTX 5090 XTREME Waterforce WB
  • Antec C8 Curve Wood Full Tower Case
  • Heatkiller IV Pro CPU Block
  • Asus ROG STRIX X870-A GAMING WIFI
  • Corsair Dominator Titanium DDR5 (2x24GB) 6000MHz CL30
  • Samsung 9100 PRO, PCIe 5.0 4TB
  • 6x Lian Li Uni Fan AL120 V2 (Intake bottom, exhaust top)
  • EKWB Coolstream PE 360mm Rad bottom
  • EKWB Coolstream XE 360mm Rad top
  • EKWB/Lian Li O11D Distro Plate G1 (taken from my old build - had to modify case slightly to fit it)
  • Cooler Master Vertical Mount V3

Happy with it now... "this time it really will be future proof" I said to the missus.

(See you in 2029
:p

thank you guys! :)

Clean and eloquent. What sort of resolution and refresh rate you are pushing for? In other words, pairing with what kind of display?

cheers bud! I'm running a Samsung Odyssey G9 49" 'super ultrawide' screen, displaying 5120x1440 @ 240Hz - not quite 4K but about 90% as many pixels to render - arguably the GPU has to work harder in gaming though as typically there's more stuff to render horizontally as opposed to rendering the ground or sky :D
