This is really gonna sound silly but this is what has happened & before I get asked have I tried filters, wiring & routers I have so I'll give you a run down of when & how things started.

In Feb I deceided to have a bright idea & get interleaving switched off, well gaming was fine & fast with a nice low ping for about a week then I started to get packet errors (I should state t was recomended to have Interleaving off to increase my line sync rate). I had to contact bt tech help to get it put back to auto & my packet loss went away & I no laggy gameplay :D pings went up though but atleast I could play.

My nice connection continued & I was happy till a letter dropped through the door from BT stating that the price would decrease to £25 per month so I rang & enquired about it, sadly it's lies & if I I wanted it I'd have to have another 12 month contract. I was also offered BT vision so I said yeah go on I'll have that!!! silly me new contract & I had to use the hub!!!! oh well I thought & continued happily until *** day of the vision install when everything went down hill.

1. QOS not switched on for vision
2. Line speed had dropped from 4.5mb to 2mb & was not able to recieve Vision on them stats
3. interleaving had been switched off again

well a few phonecalls later & after about a week or so all had been sorted & things worked fine until I got a call from bt line faults/bt india saying they had turned interleaving off again..... grrrrrrrrrrrrrr

My gaming again suffered so did some of my downloads as they corrupted, I again requested it to be switched back to auto but since it has been switched back on my line has been a disgrace & no matter what member of the team speak to me the suggest different but the same things like clear my cache & check the wiring & all I want to do is rip the throats out but I politely say I've done that how can that help & the suggest an engineer, sadly I have to say I've had one & there are no fault in the house wiring. I'm back to square one as bt line faults again rang on friday gone & asked to turn interleaving off, what the hell its buggered anyway........ line is still *** same & over the weekend I've been lucky to get 90k on a dl from most sites.

I'm supposed to get a call back from linefaults in the morning between 8 & 11am to tell me of their progess or shall I say having a nice weekend off :D its been suggested by one tech support that its my external wiring & that it can degrade, this is possible but not instantly & why not a line switch like its possible or even a new line as its a service. The engineer suggested a lift & shift but this has not done a thing & things need to be escellated higher but not even the chairmans office has helped.

kit used

netgear 834g and a GT
voyager 2091/2100
white elephant (homehub)

all the routers do the same only the voyager shows the hec errors & how many are uncorrected

It has also been suggested that is could be my pc/drivers but this cant be *** same on 3 pc's & 2 laptops & they are not running wireless at the time of tests.

Games in question are steam based games cs/css/dods/cz

as I'm running a tft I had vsync on as I dont like tearing and it smoothed things out... games in test run fine offline & not stutter but online they appear to skip a frame or 2. tested with another monitor a crt & it was *** same. oh well I'm going demented & need to fine someone with the same issues & have they sorted them or did a move to another isp sort it?

How long are you into the contract? I suggest you write a letter to ofcom. Explain what happened times, dates e.t.c and things you did to fix it. Make it detailed as possible. This way you might be able to get out of your contract early to move to another ISP.

On a wierd note, I was over my mates today. Same things was happening to him. He has just started with BT though (about 2 weeks ago).

I can get out of my contract now if I so desired (because they failed to deliver a decent service) but the main problem would be the new isp would be exactly *** same as when you transfer it the issues also go across so I'm stuck. I've forgot to mention the Prudhoe (Northumberland) exchange despite serving a very large community is not yet fully unbundled so everything is BT & BT alone un less I want talktalk which I dont :D.

I wish I had some answer apart from the obvious, leave BT well last chance week is this week as I'm at work for most of it fingers crossed this time but I can see myself jumping anyway to an enta isp that atleast will have more weight with BT wholesale than me.
