So hated my garage floor, and the clutter. So decided to transform it.

Here is how it was before.

Painted all the walls from standard builders issue biscuit to flat white. Then I went about grinding all the old epoxy off and put it back down to bare concrete, mechanically grinding it in the process. Which is the best prep you can do, before laying down a new epoxy system.

Bought a few new garage cabinets and threw out my old crappy plastic ones.

Here's the end result. As you can see from the pics, depending on the light, it can really change how it looks.

Would love to be able to not have things hanging off the wall, and less kids bikes / beach gear, but it is a garage after all and well, can't hide everything away.

Lovely garage, the new multi coloured epoxy floors all look amazing.

And god it's massive, would love a garage that size it would however be converted to a workshop.

looks great, now come do mine although my floor is full of sand and dirt due to all the roads being dirt around here. Plus mud season is starting :(

Everyone seems to have so much space in America. I love it.

Space is cheap (outside the centre of the big cities) hence average property sizes are much larger than the UK helps when your country is vast!

Looks awesome wish I could keep my house that tidy let alone a garage!

Nice floor, but is it not lethal when it's wet?

Although don't u live in Florida or something so probably not an issue :D

Yes, part of the reason I moved. Back in 2003, i was about to close on a house in the London / Surrey area. A hard to find detached property, as there are not all that many around that are within a budget, unless your'e a millionaire !!!! Which i am NOT !! Found one, but the bedrooms were so tight, all you could fit was a bed and well that was about it... That's when i said enough is enough !!!!! It was either move up North, where they all speak funny and it rains too much. :p or !!!!! emigrate to a different county, and get some decent weather and some amazing beaches in the process.

I settled for Naples FL, which is an amazingly clean, safe place to live. For the equiv of 400k GBP, at today's exchange rate, you can live in a gated community, pay far less taxes than in England, in a house similar to this.

Now remember Naples is considered very expensive compared to other parts of Florida. Go 20miles north, and you can save 100k, on the same house, but the town / city would not be as nice ! Anyway food for thought, for you guys !

The only annoying thing is the roads are not as fun to ride a motorbike on. But I'm not a tree, i could always move to a part where there's windy mountain roads. There's plenty to choose from

You say food for thought but it's almost impossible to get over there.
Otherwise I would go join some hippie backwater camp, with no planning laws and 50c an acre.

How did you get over there?
