Hello!

I recently bought a EVGA GeForce GTX 260 to go with my new build in my sig and noticed when gaming the card makes a beep noise for a second now and again, and i wondering if this is normal or anything to worry about???

Thanks for responding.

Hmm, I'm not sure what the beep could be :/

Is it like a BIOS beep or more like a high pitch squeel?

If it's the squeel then that's normal when it's outputting very high FPS like on menu screens.

It does sound power related, but the PSU in your sig should be more than adequate. It is definitely not normal to hear the sound.

Yesterday my computer started making the same beep noise but a lot more and I found out it was my PSU that was causing this to happen not my graphics card that i originally thought it was. The PSU warning lead started blinking red with short beeps and in the manual it states when it does this, it means, PSU Fan fail warning (Fan RPM < 450 RPM).

I was getting very worried that my PSU was ready to die, so i took a chance and took the PSU out and opened her up and gave the fans and the inside a good clean - lots of dust build up removed.

To my surprise, the PSU doesn`t seem to make any beep noise when gaming anymore:D
