Ok I can get google to work fine on my laptop on wireless but my main system won't work. Basically i can get the google homepage but when i search for something nothing is coming up?? Help!!

Um, is that because on the PC it's coming up in cached mode and when you try to search it attempts to make a call to the internet which doesn't work? Have you checked your DNS Settings/Network Settings?

Well the internet is working and going to other sites, it just won't do a search from google. Also it won't go onto Yahoo or ask.com etc.

Could well be the Vundrop virus, it does things like this. Google it :)

The main telltale sign is you'll find a couple of random *.dlls in msconfig under startup. If you disable them, two new ones will appear next time you start up. They tend to be a random collection of about 8 letters.

Thanks mate, looks like you were right. Just did a thorough Spyware scan in safe mode and it detected it plus some other stuff!! All good now much appreciated.

ive had probs with google the last few days too, the page loads up fast but when i try to search sometimes nothing comes up

There was a service outage for Be/O2 customers Saturday night that took out most sites including Google, but ruling that one out as it's 24 hours old, I'd agree with Virus/Spyware activity. Judging by the fact I've had an unknown virus variant hit my last line of defence today (first time that's happened) it seems the virus writers have been busy again. :(

PS - Google has so much redundancy that an outage is rather unlikely.
