my gtx? or two amd?

Hi,

I've put together a second hand computer from spare parts which i will use to take to my mates for the occasional afternoons gaming. We don't run anything 2 demanding.

I've put together a phenom with 6gb. I originally had the option of my old radeon 5770 or my EVGA 650.

I was going to fit the 650 as i 'think' that has a slight edge? However, my friend said I can have his old 5770 for the price of a curry as he's upgrading asap.

Should i fit the 650, or crossfire the 5770s? My powerpack will take the load, and we usually use 1680x1050 res.

I'd be grateful if anyone has any input

I'd have the 5770 regardless if it's that cheap. You can try it out that way and if you don't get on with it switch over. If you already have everything else you might as well give it a go.

5770 is better if the games your playing has a crossfire profile.

How much memory has the 650 got 1gb or 2gb.

the 5770s have 1gb each, and the EVGA 650 has 2GB.

So, i should look into the games we are likely to play to ensure that they can take advantage of the dual setup? (I didn't realise only a few did).

Yes have a look, but i think your be better of with the 650 as has 2gb of memory.
