I recently managed to install a new GPU (Which involved buying a new motherboard and power supply). When I turn on my PC with just the HDMI plugged into the GPU nothing is displayed, the screen just goes to 'no signal'. However, when I plug a VGA cable into the motherboard port everything works fine. The HDMI works. Once the computer is on and running and everything is being displayed I can pull the VGA cable out and everything still works, but when I restart my PC with the VGA cable out it goes to 'no signal' again. I don't really mind, but I'm scared that it's somehow using more of my GPU to do this. Anyone have any solutions?

What/where is the VGA cable going in to? As it sounds like the PC is using the onboard GPU, not your GPU

The VGA cable is going into my motherboard VGA port, but it says im using HDMI on my tv. My computer is using my GPU though.
