My Heater's Stopped Working & Im Cold!

On the 330, As above, the climate control display is working fine but there is no air (hot or cold) coming out of the vents. Went through some receipts and noticed that the previous owner had the aircon/resistor pack replaced by BMW. Cost him about £150. Anyone know if this is the problem? Or what the problem is? Im ****** freezing!!

Found the problem. Hedgehog resistor. £50 from BMW :eek:

but its a DIY job :cool:

Hedgehog resistor?? Does it stop them getting into the car??!!!!

is that the resistors usually connected on/around the fan..

My fans died on the golf I expect its burnt out resistors. So going to bodge it. Apparently it's very common on all cars for this to happen.

Good luck with that. It's hidden deep in the dashboard and is meant to be a pig of a job to do :eek:

Just doing it now. Ive got a guide, but its for a LHD car. BMWland has a few threads on there but I refuse to pay BMW £100+ for the service. On top of the £58 it just cost me.

It should be ok - will just take a lot of time. I've had most of my dash apart before. It's very easy to work with, and thankfully very difficult to break anything.

I think I am either being a retard and not being able to find it, or I am looking on the wrong side. Im 99% sure that for UK cars its on the drivers side :confused:

Found it. But it it probably the most annoying thing ever to remove. I am taking a break because it is ridiculously fiddly and I am getting irritated!

I cant move the servo bracket out of the way to get at the resistor and I am extremely frustrated :mad:
