My Hermes - bad tracking or just slow?

I returned an item to Amazon last week by dropping it into a shop for My Hermes collection last Tuesday. They scanned the code, printed a label and gave me a receipt. It's now 6 days later and the tracking hasn't updated since last Thursday when it changed to "Your parcel is on its way back to the sender" (there are three more steps after this) and the Amazon return process still seems to be at stage one waiting for the item to be dropped off. I can't see any way to get more information from My Hermes (you just get directed back to the online tracker) and it all seems a bit sluggish to me - or do Amazon returns normally use an extra slow service with My Hermes?

Myherpies are rubbish,
when i've had deliverys from them they normally arrive 2 days after the tracking says it's been delivered

I avoid buying from anywhere that offers Hermes delivery, they are horrendous. They're always late, lose things or chuck parcels over the fence. They are hopeless.

Time to start the lost item process I thinks. You insured it to the full value I assume?

Or did Amazon provide a postage label?

My Hermes was the option that Amazon offered (the other was the Post Office which I wasn't going to be able to get to for another day. Maybe a lesson learned there!). I would ask why Amazon use them, but I'm guessing it's because they are cheap...

That's why I always use royal mail for Amazon returns. The refund is processed automatically usually a couple of hours after being scanned at the counter.

I got in touch with Amazon to ask why their system still appears to show that the item has not been dropped off, when this was done nearly a week ago. Fair play they have just rung me back and advised that although the item has not been received yet, they have approved the full refund.

Had an issue with hermes last week on a board I had picked up from liverpool. Literally went missing for 3 weeks. We were doing the whole lost thing then all of a sudden nearly a month later it turns up on my doorstep both signatures nothing but it made it here a full month late.

Hermes even said they lost it. Basically nobody over there has any clue at all what they are doing.

Had a parcel go missing last week from MyHermes from an eBay shop. Seller dispatched another via DPD once MyHermes had fessed up about the loss.

They're a terrible company, although i guess it depends on who your local driver is. Several times now I have sold things on ebay and used their pickup service and when they don't turn up to collect they put failed collection attempt on the tracking. Making it look like I wasn't in, which then makes my buyers angry that delivery took so long.

I'm currently waiting for an order from Aldi and it has been about 3 days now with the tracking showing as 'We're expecting your parcel', so I'm guessing they're just mowed out due to black friday etc. Never had these issues with any other delivery service though and have had several deliveries over the past few days.

Same here, they are cancer. They nicked a PS3 I ordered from Amazon they had to send out another via a more reputable courier why they keep using them is beyond me I guess the bargain basement cheapness outweighs all else. Mother had something tossed over the fence as well found it lying in a puddle in the garden.

At least you had a choice I didn't even get that they didn't specify the courier either I guess thats an improvement at least.

Myhermes have been crap lately.

I ordered some clothes from Jacamo over the weekend, I didn't get access to tracking until literally 3 minutes before the courier knocked on the door with my goods.

Overall they are terrible. However there is a lovely couple who deliver here and they are brilliant. If we are not in and they have a parcel for us they check the neighbours first then if there is no joy there either put it somewhere safe and dry and post a card through the door saying exactly where it is. They have even come back a second time later in the day when we had a fairly large item and weren't initially in. National service is terrible but local service is excellent.

I've never actually had an issue with Hermes. Both our local agents are pretty good, and the service has been reliable overall in my experience.

Found them useless on every occasion. Every delivery has been left in our safe place.
We have never nominated one. I avoid using places that use them.

Just go to Amazon Chat and chat about that order and your delayed returned because their offered service has mucked up. They can see you dropped the item off a reasonable amount of item ago and it is their issue and not yours they haven't got it back yet. I've had to do this a couple of times and everytime the refund has been completed by the time the chat has ended.

Oh and to add - I use Hermes a lot for sending small parcels - so far I've had 100% delivered on time.
