Actually latetly I wains thinking of getting my HP MS back up and run Ubuntu+everything ontop. I have a LC20 case for a media server I run Windows Home Server on it and a few in VMware.

IPCAM (ZONEMINDERh I hear owns) I was gunna put this with Ubuntu as a guest O/S
Anyone rec a cloud/FTP prog
I want the server to push notify eg at midnight people walk past the server sends to comps, rpis, laptops and phone? I like this......http://www.remotenotification.com/
I liked the idea of Windows Home Severs Dashboard / Launchpad which I never fully figured out. I would like to use VMWARE and I have Win 8 install, I use as a Sandbox prep, it's 8.1 infact an all my software then I wanna ghost it onto these laptops.
So original idea was upgrade + use for gaming (latest games) but now I am thinking different.
HPMS has no drives atm (sorry a 1TB failing?) drive and 2 pci slots ?? it has 8GB RAM
I could use WHS basic/Win8 and set HPMS to WoL it? the upstairs rig can be just games!!!
