Hi All

i have an interesting home set up at the moment and am after a little more advice as i am trying to improve the wireless upstairs in my sons room as he is always complaining.

so i have

superhub2 in modem mode to router

The router is serving PC - ethernet storage - powerline adapter to switch

powerline to switch which is serving Tivo and Tv

on the second powerline upstairs i want to add another switch to serve the kids room which will serve

Xbox - PS3 - PC

on an output of this switch is it possible to add another small wireless router so he can have his own wireless network in his room?

Like this one below.

It is possible. That particular router comes preconfigured as an access point. There isn't much required beyond plugging it in and configuring the wireless security.

It's only a 150Mbps device, so the throughput will be limited, but for the purpose described it should be fine.

Cheers Bremen,

I can live with limited throughput up there it means my net wont get hammered, buttbf its only for his tablet / laptop and phone :)

Many Thanks

You could get a router, like the older DIR-615's or a newer model and use it both as a switch and a wireless access point. Just set it up with the same SSID, channel, gateway, DNS and turn off DHCP and you should be good to go.

Thats the configuration I had when I used the Superhub 1, but with the Superhub 2 the wireless is sufficient to serve the whole house now.
