My HTC Desire has no £££ pound sign on the keyboard for when sending SMS

This is driving me mad..

My desire has no £ pound sign on the keyboard for when sending SMS.it only has a $ dollar sign...


Is there a setting am missing somewhere to change this ??

AAAAAAAAAAH.....I just found it...

Choose keypad number mode and then press the 1/2 button...o don't think i ever tryed pressing that 1/2 button before )

'long-press' the dollar sign, it'll pop up a list of the alternative characters, one of which will be the pound sign

Sadly I've not used the stock keyboard in months so can't remember how to access it. However, I think it was alternate screen 2 of 2, not the first one.

I been writing things like 20pounds for weeks thinking it didn't have a £ sign..

Someone told me it would be moving to page 1 in an update, no sign of it moving in 2.2. It should really be based on your locale, and display the most appropriate one first.
