My htc hero just died. it wont turn on. please help

Here goes

I checked the time on it and then left it. After a while i noticed the phone was off so i thought the battery must be flat. I put it in the charger but still no response.

Its totally dead, any idea on whats happened?

Hmm.

Take the battery out, and SD Card, and leave it for a minute.

Put it back in and try again.

Might have been doing an OTA update. Although it is a hero so it seems unlikely

Quirky things happen with these, it usually sorts itself out

Out of context, but can the phone do a normal update in firmware through 3G mobile connection

I would imagine it could as my Desire had an update a few weeks ago and it was downloaded via my phone on the 3G connection.
