The plastic/metal straps don't look comfy!

And that cable is not the same as mine. I have a 3 core ribbon all the way to the box.

That's the new improved 3in1 cable. Much thinner and lighter than the original one. Less prone to coiling up as well, so less likely to get caught up in/trip over it.

new vives ship with a single round cable now instead of the 3 strand one.

I bought my Vive directly from HTC on Black Friday hoping I'd get the new cable version but didn't

I saw a vid on youtube where they compared the old and new cable, the conclusion was that the thinner cable knots easier but the old cable holds its shape better and is less prone to tangling.

I don't mind the 3 cable. Never had it tangle on my and never really tripped over it either. I found it coils it's self nicely so when I put it in my cupboard it just coils up and I just pull the headset and wire out when I want to use it. 0 issues so far

If there's a lighter single core cable available then it will be easier to support and feed through an overhead pulley system.

you can't just pull on the elastic and rest on your forehead, might go back to it, only take 5mins to reattach.

added some detachable foam strips to the braces on mine to add more comfort.

I saw that too - makes me glad I received the old 3-strand cable when I ordered a spare about a month go.

My only issue with the cable is standing on it occasionally and having my head or my hair yanked back. But I guess that would happen with the new cable too.

Can't wait for the wireless module to be honest.
