My i7 4770K is a shocker of an overclocker, I think

Just got myself a 4770K and a UD3H for Crimbo and I am struggling to get it stable at 4.5GHz. I have done a bit of reading and I see that the Haswell's are a completely different beast to Ivybridge.

I really wanted 4.5GHz as my previous 3570K did that no sweat.

Its a made in Malaysia cpu if that makes any difference and Batch L320B371.

The VIN I think is 1.03v.

Whats the max voltage you can put through these?

I have read a few guides but nothings really helping me get 4.5. I seem to be alright on 4.2 - 4.3.

I appreciate I might have a cpu that just wont hit 4.5GHz and I know its a lottery.

Any help would be great. :)

1.03v default vid is good from what ive seen

but it does need more tweaking than ivy,max safe is around 1.38v I think? but anything under 1.4v is ok in my books

flashing to latest mb bios will help if you havn't already

What sort of voltage are you putting into it for 4.5ghz? Also 4.3 ono on hw is about the same as 4.5 on ib.

Just re-checked my VIN and it says 1.048v.

I have had a look at 8Packs 4770k guide http://forums.overclockers.co.uk/showthread.php?t=18562552 and seem to have it running at 4.4GHz but will post back if I get any issues.

A few things I am confused with if anyone could help please?

8Pack mentions Cache, what is this as I don't see that in Gigabyte's BIOS.

I am running latest beta BIOS F8K.

Cache is also known as uncore, best to leave it at stock until you have the cpu clock stable.

I have put the uncore/cache voltage to 1.15v as per 8Packs guide.

Whats this Uncore Ratio all about?
