My i7 Cooling

Hey all,

Im finding that after making my i7 build back in November it has been very good so far, its a 920 overclocked to 4.0 Ghz on a 20x200 multiplier, this runs a little hot for me, 50-60 idle 80ish under full load, which isnt very often except for media encoding.

This hasnt been a problem atall for me till now, in the summer we have now the heat has increased greatly and now ill get blue screens when running 3d mark 06 or video encoding, this is on air with this cooler:

So basically im looking for new cooling that will solve this, probably water, i dont want to spend a lot, as little as possible, but i will have this pc for another 2 years so need to keep it in good order, another quick question is about the coolit system thing and is it any good for i7?

So thanks for any help i know very little about cooling but have friends to help install water cooling and i can manage air myself, thanks for any help i need to fix this issue, specs in sig and anymore info needed i can provide.

ok, so say i could go over £150 and get liquid what would i be looking at?, and i heared that that coolit system was better than high end air or is that just hype

edit: also what could i expect in performance increase from water over my current air.

I am no expert on water, so I can't give you a good spec for a CPU loop. However, I do know that the coolit is significantly worse than the best air coolers (TRUE/megahalems) and that's with the coolit at high fans speed (which is very loud).

The coolit is good as a simple solution to cool dual cores or stock quad cores, but for a heavily overclocked i7s it simply cannot shift the heat fast enough.

thanks, is it not cheaper to buy parts individually? also isnt the tunic tower with i7 bracket the best cooling on air, note i havent looked at cooling since i bought it back in November so i dont know of any other advances.

With water cooling can i mount it all in my case of will some need to be external, im going to uni in 2 months and will need to transport it all down.

It might be a little cheaper if you do it separately, that pump and block are keepers if you decide to change anything else.

it can be wherever you can fit it. I have all of mine internal but i do have a case designed for it. There are plenty of builds around with people fitting everything inside some of the smallest cases and what i linked to would fit quite nicely into most. There is more work involved with water cooling though it does have benefits.
I was going on the buzz on the forums for those 2 coolers, they seem to be very recommended.

ok anyone able to add to it, if anyone could do a list of components as i wanted more customization on colours etc that kits dont give. Anyone able to confirm if a cpu (possibly gpu if i find the money) system can fit in my armor suit with ease? i dont want to go about hacking it up if possible !
