Hi guys,
My first post here although I have often lurked.
I ordered an infinity eclipse last week and must say the days are really dragging :(
I am a photographer and do a lot of photo and video editing and find at the moment I frequently run out of ram in my 12gb system.
I've upgraded my ram in the build of my eclipse to 64gb but have been told that due to this an overclock won't be possible. I'm not really sure why as the phone line wasn't the best and I struggled to hear the answers.
So was just wondering if anyone could enlighten me as to why you can't do an overclock with so much ram?

** Removed by Moderator - I've emailed you about this - thanks **

Cheers guys.

Wow, this is a great system :)

I wait for a built (not as good as yours) as well, this
Order Status: In our warehouse queue
is devastating... for a week now.

Damien said, the parts are there and wait for be put together.

p.s. some of the landscape photos look more like paintings. Great work.

Blimey  Make sure you post some pictures of that monster when it arrives :D

More RAM modules means more stress on the memory controller, which makes it harder to achieve a stable overclock.

Yeah was just looking through the system refreshes after I saw 8pack systems also had a facelift.

Let us know how you get on with your new system :)

Will do guys,
I should hopefully be getting it this week.
Just not looking forward to my few days work installing all the software I use etc but once that's done, it's time to play ;)

Ahhh, Your OVERCLOCKERS order will be delivered today by Adrian, your DPD driver, between 15:50 and 16:50

I kind of hijacked this thread. I did get another rig as the OP and it looks very good.
I moved then from SATA 1 and 2 to SATA channel 0 and 1, also the cable to the 4TB was loose and the second disk (4TB WD) not recognized in BIOS. The Intel SSD worked from the start.

AMD A10 7850K, 32GB RAM (2133MHz), Radeon R9 290X

Dual Graphics is obviously not available as of yet, but the manual for the MB explains it quite well on how to enable it.

The onboard R7 chip itself gets at least a 6.3 in the Windows 7 rating thingy for graphics, the rest is at ~7.8 (max).

As a matter of fact, I only have a 1280x1024 monitor with D-SUB connector at the moment and therefore cannot test the dedicated card :)

Large package!

Had to take out the GPU at first, because default BIOS setting is auto for the IGP and I had to change it to 'forced' for the D-Sub to work.

p.s. the fans are a little noisy. I remember when I did my own custom water cooled system, I connected thw pwm of the radiator fans to the CPU fan controller and since the CPU was always nice cold, they were usually very very quiet. The water pump made more noise than the fans.

These radiator fans here, just run at ~4500 rpm constantly and don't change speed or ever go quiet. So when I turn on the system it makes noise like an electric heater, not really loud but more than you would want around while watching TV for example.

pps. I going to take out the fan controller stuff that came with the built and connect the radiator fans to the MB case fans, then set them to silent in BIOS.

I like fans that only ramp up when really needed, like in a game it doesnt matter if they rev up as you have headphones on most likely. Looks good overall

Exactly!

Either gaming and don't care, because of headset
Browsing the internet or watching video, I want to move freely around and use the surround sound

//edit: ok, I took out the connector to the PSU for the fans and connected two of them to the PWM on the board, works fine now at humble 389 rpm. I'll get two of those pwm splitters to connect four fans this way, including the case fan at the back which is currently on the 3pin connector.

//edit: really happy, both gpu enabled and each with its monitor: http://i.imgur.com/BPkVnI6.jpg
