When I was considering a mechanical keyboard I looked for as many reviews as possible so hopefully this will be of some use to someone. A couple of days ago I picked up a used, but as-new condition, Blackwidow Ultimate in the MM for about half the price it would have been new. Having used it for 48 hours here are my thoughts:

* It's a heavy keyboard. Surprisingly so.
* I haven't used the drivers yet as I'm not bothered about the macro keys.
* I have the blue backlit version. The backlighting is a little bright, especially when in the dark. I thnk the newer green backlighting would be more subtle.
* Coming from a K750 wireless cheicklet keyboard it took some getting used to the slightly narrower keys than on that keyboard.
* The funcrion keys on the left annoy me as I keep pressing them instead of shift, control, escalpe, etc... but I'm sure I'll get used to that in a few days :)
* The alternate key function is weirdly placed. For example the £ symbol is on the 3 key but printed below the number 3 instead of above it. It's no big deal but just looks odd when you go to use it.
* It's noisy. Very noisy. very, very, very noisy. After the first day I wasn't sure whether I could live with it. However I'm now getting used to it.

From the above it probably sounds like I dislike it. Well there are certainly a few compromises with a keyboard like this...

However, it is simply the most comfortable keyboard to use that I have ever had the pleasure of. I'm finding my typing much, much faster than on my old chicklet keyboard or my standard Lenovo keyboard at work. I absoluteely love the feel of it. If it were just a little quieter I think it would be the perfect keyboard. I may consider trying the brown switches instead but I love the click and positive feel of it which I think will be missing with the browns.

Anyway, just thought I'd share my experience in case it's of any use. In summary... surprisingly noisy even though I knew it would be. But a superb typing feel.
