yo folks just a general question.

Im currently with BT , the option 3 package. at 25 quid a month or something i think it is ,

but the *beeeeeps* keep capping me. I know they have a fair usage policy and stuff but its just shocking the amount of times and length they cap you for.

At this moment im getting less than dial up speeds.

anyway I know a few people that are with SKY. and apparently they dont cap or anything and are cheaper.

anyway I ran a Line speed checker thing on the sky website and they say I can get between 10mb and 20mb.
but when I ran the BT one , they say i can only get up to 6mb , mine is at 5.5mb

so if i go with sky can i actually get between 10mb and 20mb?

It entirely depends if Sky are unbundled in your area. You can check Samknows to find out which ISP are unbundled in your local exchange. (Look for LLU operators on the right hand side)

If Sky are unbundled and have availability in your area then yes you could possibly get a faster connection speed.

If Sky are not unbundled in your exchange then they would put you on whats known as the connect package which is essentially BT option 2.

Hope this helps.

Your paying a lot for BB. I only pay £11 per month no down load limits but traffic managed so you can download all day and its only slightly restricted at peak time and thats only P2P.

I get money off as I recommended customers so in fact I only actually pay £5

Samknows, BT & Sky all said I could get between 5mb - 6mb

Got Sky installed & it is running at 9mb at the moment, gotta ring sky to see if I can get more as people have said I should be getting around 12mb :)

So yeah don't take those readings as gospel.
