Righto.. been having problems with AOL as late.. and them having their own problems too has not made it any easier for me.

After the nightly disconnections i decided to downgrade to 1meg which has been much more stable. However, im still gettin periods of disconnections, which last 5 minutes or so. These periods have happened twice since, on both occasions the similar factor i can deduce is the weather.. its been warm and thunderstorms are reported.. albeit i wouldnt say its about to be stormy here but similarly the last time it did this it was stormy about 1 hour later and overall the experience must have been about 4 hours worth.

Is it normal for a line to be super sensitive to the weather? Is there anything i can do.. im using a Voyager 105 modem, but also tried Thompson speedtouch 576 which didnt work so well.

If i change ISP will i have more luck of it being sorted, ive had several checks on my line recently which say its fine and my DSL stats are well within limits, 1meg 44 attenuation/20~ SNR. Also, the error i get when reconnecting is something to do with unable to connect to remote host and WAN Miniport PPPOE..

You getting disconnected from the AOL software or the internet itself?

I used to get d/c from the software all the time a few years back, but sorted itself out once i made sure all the DSL filters were in. Got any phones without filters?

Nah, everything like that has been checked and doubley checked. Im not using the AOL software as i use Xbox live. I am losing the DSL connection though so its not just software based.
