No idea how it's managed to do this but basically it seems to have forgotten it's an MP3 player.

All the artist/playlists/albums etc. have gone from the Menu when you use it. When you plug it into the PC it just works as a removable drive, WinAmp doesn't spot it as an MP3 player...

However, all the music is still actually there.

It's a 4G i think (iPod Photo)

Is there some way to 'rebuild' the Database? as the one on it is not the same as the one in iTunes and I don't want to spend hours unticking 10GB worth of songs and refilling the whole thing...

:(

Help?

It's always been in disk mode as far as I am aware, but it still functioned as an MP3 player when unplugged, and WinAmp would recognise it as such.

I'm not sure this iTunes library is linked to this iPod either...

iTunes recognises it as an iPod, can see that 18GB is full up, but doesn't list any tracks...

Nope... actually, iTunes just felt it would be ok to remove all the songs that were on it.

Great. Gonna have to rebuild it all anyway now.
