Howdy! Long time no see. Ain't posted here for a while!

So yesterday my kraken G12 arrived and so did my new H115i (for my cpu) Thank you OCUK <3
I had already been using a H110i on my CPU which is compatible for the kraken G12 so i decided to water cool my RX580, and it wasn't just for show, the RX580 ARMOR edition has one of the worst coolers i have ever encountered. theres numerous threads all over the internet about there card's throttling when fans are on 100% and mine was one of them even undervolting and slowing the card down at 100% fan speed (which sounded like a turbine) it would throttle back.

There has also been a lot of debate if a kraken G12 fits the rx580 armor, and YES IT DOES!

Also, i have a Corsair 750D, which with a H110 and a kraken, you can't fit the 280 rad in the front as the tubes wont reach, So i had to mount it in the floor in the 240 area, BUT it doesn't fit, so i had to dremmel part of the case away as you will see in the pictures, I highlighted in red the area i dremmeled out.
And another thing, i can only run one fan on the rad with it floor mounted, But as you will see its more than enough.

So without further a-doo heres my picture log !Large images! Click spoiler to view.

From the pictures above, the orange straw was just to keep the card straight and level =D haha.

The results:

2500k I5 @ 1.45v 5ghz,

CPU DUSTY H110 Fan speed 50% IDLE 55 / LOAD 83
CPU With New H115i Fan speed 25% IDLE 43 / LOAD 65

RX580 ARMOR

STOCK @ 100% Fan speed - IDLE 55 / LOAD 90 then throttling.
Kraken g12 H110i with 1x fan @ 25% speed @ 1.575GHZ 1.25MV - IDLE 22c(Roomtemp) / LOAD 45c / Furmark 50c

3dmark Benchmarking:

Im absolutely over the moon with the results, I now have every single fan in my pc (They are quiet edition fans anyway) but they are running @25% speed on my controller and the whole system is silent and iv never seen gpu temperatures like this before.

It was pretty straight forward and simple to do installing the kraken, and also now i have this amazing cooling solution ready for any upgrade (up to rtx 2080 etc) sat ready for anything i throw at it.

Also as a final note, Does any one know a program that i can push past 1.25MV core? as my sliders are maxed out in afterburner. TY!

Ty for reading, Hope you enjoyed reading![/spoiler]

That 580 armour cooler is shocking, there's practically nothing to it! No wonder it was thermal throttling. The G12 is such a cool bit of kit.

As far as companies like Asus, MSI & Gigabyte are concerned AMD plays second fiddle when it comes to cooler development, If they can they use components that they originally developed for Nvidia gpu's which often leads to us getting rubbish AMD graphics cards, all three of them do it. I got caught out with what should have been the MSI 290x TFIV flagship model and more recently a Gigabyte 560, both were terrible cards. I've learnt to always avoid those brands when buying AMD.

Thanks will note this for future ref.

swapped my old gaming X cooler on my bro in laws 580 armor and saw 20c decrease in temps on furmark. much quieter as well running heaven benchmark on a loop. Took ages to get to 72C.

Hello there. Excellent post, just hitting the nail on my problem.
One doubt I have: How are your RAM and VRMs doing after the Kraken installation? Are they in touch with the new plate? Did you use new thermal pads or just reuse those below the stock heatsink?

Thank you.

Excellent. Did you connect the LCS pump cable to the VGA fan connector? If not, how does the card know its "fan" is working or regulate the pump performance? Do I just connect pump and fan *directly* to 12V rail?

This is true, I got caught out with a baking hot 290 that had a cooler more suitable for a cooler running Nvidia card. It was an MSI with the Frozr cooler.

adaptor from the PCB fan header to the rad fans. pump I controlled manually though the mobo header and the bios. ran it at 70%. didn't see any performance increase running it at 100% and it made less noise
