So the wife has tasked me with sourcing a new tv for my 21 yr old lads room. He will be using it for PS4 and his PC and maybe a bit of streaming.

He is not running nothing too taxing, he has a 280x in his rig and only plays two games, mmorpg types, can't remember which ones and he is away from home atm so cannot check.

The only real requirement I know of and tbh it's pretty much a given these days, is it must be smart, not that he watches much tv tbh.

Looking for a 40" I think and I think the budget is up to about £450, which from a quick look at Richersounds (6 year guarentee) is more than adequate.

The wife has found a Sony she likes but I haven't seen it and once she is home I shall post the model so you can give me your opinion.

Thanks for now.

Thanks Clov!s....that's a hell of a saving on that link. Not really thought about a curve for him, it will be wall mounted, which I know curved can be too.

The Sony she found was the SONY BRAVIA KDL40W705C. Which has excellent reviews, especially on the RS page, with maybe a few people commenting about the poor sound, however there are equally people who say it isn't an issue.

Sound on all LCD TVs is pretty crap to be honest so wouldn't worry about it.

As said above, I'd go for the 48" H6400 if it will fit - I've one in the living room and it's a stunning TV! If not, you really can't go that wrong with any from the lines of Sony, Samsung, etc.
