My laptop stays at the same charge % when plugged in

Hey
I have a HP HDX 16 - 1-2 months now, but this problem emerged within the first 2 weeks.

My battery usually doesn't actually charge when it's plugged in and in use. It will stay at the same charge percentage that it was before it was plugged in.

Does anyone know why this is happening and a solution?

My new Samsung Q320 does this as well. From what i understand, this is deliberate so as to prevent the battery from having lots of small charges/discharges. In the long run this is supposed to conserve battery life. Somebody will probably come along and correct me now though

try a bios update from the hp website, also there should be a battery check program in the hp folder from the start menu.

Ah I see.
Is it better for me to keep the plug in whenever I can then?
