Sticking with the 1366 board and maxing it for processing, image and video. I do a lot of astronomy imaging (gb's of data and cpu) and a bit of video editing.

I7 990 O/c to 4.67 stable 6 core (have)
Asus P6X58D-E upgrade from P6T SE for proper 6gb speeds and SLI (on order)
24GB 1600 RAM (have)
256 SSD (on order from o/c)
3 TB Raid0 Data (have)
2x GTX 460 SLI Slightly O/C with afterburner (2nd card on it's way)
Water Cooled CPU only (Have)

A processing machine, not a game machine.

Thoughts, should it last a few years ?

Considering a processing machine, should it kick butt ?

How much is it costing you?

The "on orders" are about £350 additional from the 990, P6T SE, 24GB, 460 GTX single, no SSD

Got the 990 for £400 previously and the original GTX 460 for £90 (The 2nd is about same price)
M/B is worst, £90 eeek, but best I could find to give me USB3, real speeds and SLI without cross bios hacking.

The rest i owned as had the case etc with the I7 920 with water.
