Bought the console on launch day and upto now has been flawless but last night I was playing GOW2 and the graphics went all weird and cartoon like and so I turned it on and off and blue line were all that was being displayed on restart so I did it again and it loaded up fine but the graphics were still borked, I played GOW2 for about an hour like this before turning my pc on and ordering another 360. I think I have done well for it to last as long as it did when others are on there forth and fifth consoles.

I still have no rings of death and I am planning to try the oven fix on it once my new console arrives.

im still on my launch system aswell, been thinking about getting an elite because surely my launch 360 cant last much longer.... but i think im just going to wait to see if it ever dies.

my launch system died today, had 3 rings a couple of months ago, so I unplugged and rotated the console, that fixed the problem, but now nothing solves the 3 rings it got today... I've had mine since feb 06... :(

You should still be covered by the 3 year warranty then. Give MS a call.

My release day system RRoD'd for the first time about 3 months ago. Managed to fix it myself by replacing the washers and removing the clamps. Now it awaits its brand new Lian Li case tomorrow :)

All makes sense when you think about it, but you do still feel a bit of a burke the first time you put the motherboard in the oven lol.

Yeh my 360 elite rrod'd the other day i fixed it by removing the xclamps and putting some screws and washers on :) thinking of sticking it in a lian li case

Will be repairing this one myself too. It's within warrenty, but I've fixed 5 so far, so I'm confident enough with doing it. Will oven it, and replace the x-clamps as soon as some screws arrive hopefully just before Christmas if the dude posts them tomorrow.

lol seems like the oven thread is gettin around quite a bit lately :)

Yet another update, my 360 is still workin great, it survived the wales weekend with zero problems and is still going strong now

Oven + X-Clamp mod = winrar!

The original launch day console I repaired first now "bakes" itself everytime it's used, as it's housed in the AV cabinet in our livingroom. It's probably more stressed than it's ever been in its life and it's working perfectly.
