My launch day XBox 360 console...

...has finally given up the ghost, following a week of fairly solid Guitar Hero action (brother's visiting from the states and has been playing while i've been at work).

Almost inevitable I suppose.

At least it's the 3 red lights issue, so shouldn't be a problem getting it sorted.

Just thought I'd share, as most other people seem to when theirs die.

How long does the replacement / repair process normally take?

When I had my 360, never had any problems with in. Played on it quite a lot too.

No, as far as I'm aware it's due to an inherent design fault with the early consoles.

If it makes you feel any better, mine keeps crashing and is out of warranty

It's in bits at the moment, going to get someone to re-do the "BGA" joints (if I can find somewhere to do it).

Wow, you can't have given it too much usage which can be seen with your gamerscore, so it's quite unfortunate that it's gone. Sorry to hear that, hopefully it doesn't take too long, especially with it being so close to Christmas.

Yeah it's not really been used too much. Certainly a lot more in the last week than it's seen previously. Normally just an hour or two each night.

Got my Wii back from my mate last night at least.

Well it's been gone just a week and the status of the repair is already 'Device shipped to customer'. Should have it back within a couple of days.

Hmm. I didn't send them my PSU or hard drive. That shouldn't stop them from repairing it, though, should it?

they should have told what you needed to send with it, either way you don't need to send your hard drive back with it, you better hope its not your psu thats the problem though

The PSU block is crap. Constantly crashed my 360 if I dont have the block elevated. Utter rubbish :mad:

The turnaround at the service centre was pretty good, just a couple of days.
