My Launchday 360 Has Half Bitten The Dust!

I really urge you not to open it up and voiding your warranty.

I opened my launch one up and it failed passed the 2 year mark and still died. It'll die eventually and you'll have no warranty at all.

Not sure the x-clamp will fix the problems you described either.

Mine had the exact same problem with it having sound but no displaying any picture. I phoned up Microsoft and claimed it had 3 RROD issue and set it back and got it repaired no problems.

So just lie to them and get it repaired for free instead of buying a new one.

Not to worry, ive decided not to void my warranty. Cheers anyway.

On another note, did the towel trick and the xbox has a resurgence in life.. if only temporary.
 
Oh noes :( Mine died back in Feb/March and I brought it back to life using the towel trick, which lasted around 3-4 weeks. I then got annoyed and ripped the lid off and sorted out the clamp using fixtures from work. It sits downstairs now and serves as our DVD/HD-DVD player :o
