Hi all

Right, I have a :
Pentium 4 3.0Ghz - HT
Some generic Mobo
Some generic PSU
2GB DDR 400Ram
250gb & 80gb HD
Geforce 6800NU

Right, I want to upgrade and dont have much to spend. I am thinking £300-400 tops.

I am a gamer.. I like CSS and am hoping to get some newer games now that college is over. CSS is a weird game. Even on my comp using modded configs the game is slow and chugs along at 30fps dipping super low.. 12x10, no aa, everything on low, config removing cans, rubbish etc... Then again, doom 3 and quake 4 play lurvely at 12x10 on high settings and it looks amazing.

Here is what I had in mind and i would like to know what you think about the spec.

I am sticking with 939 as Im not looking to upgrade any time soon. and when i do no doubt AM2 will have moved on anyway. Conroe is next month and the deal for the 3700+ ends soon.

Hiper Type R 580W PSU
I have the PSU left over from a previous build.
The AMD 3700+ San diego - 1MB Cache
Thought about dual core... but im a gamer and the games I like have known to spit out awful performance on dualies
2GB DDR400 Ram
From other machine (which i upgraded a while back)
Geforce 7900GT OC
looks like a nice card... always prefered the nvidia interface to ATI.. it would take something amazing to make me want to use an ATI card, dont flame me lol
Asus A8N5X nForce4 (Socket 939) PCI-Express Motherboard (MB-120-AS)
A good board?... no idea to be honest, open for suggestions

The CPU, RAM and Graphics look like good choices there. For a motherboard try going a little more expensive to the Asus A8N-SLi SE nForce4 SLi for £66. It should be far better all round (features, overclocking and slight stock speed).
