The current game that i am playing the most of is bf2142 (when it works, thanks EA! lol) and my old system just was not cutting it anymore, especially on the new 24" monitor (which i have been running for a week on the old system) after seeing the OcUK's debranded golden samples 7900GS's i couldn't resist!

Last night i set out to build the system into the new case and installed the new CPU and V.Cards.

I have always had a soft spot for the WaveMaster despite it being 2 years old i think it still looks the business!

Before i took the old system apart i ran 3Dmark06 on it to see what the different would be compared to new system. The old system only managed to achive 1,696 3Dmarks!

After finally getting windows to reconise the CPU as a dual core i then set about overclocking the cards and cpu. and managed to get just a smidge under 8,000 marks! i think the cards have abit more to give yet tho!

After the trying about bf2142 i was so suprised about how smooth it wasCSS also runs like a dream with a minimum FPS of 80 and an average of around 120 @ 1920x1200 with everything on to the max!

SLI really is as good as they say !!

Here's a pic of the whole setup!

The next step will be to upgrade the mobo, cpu (to a conroe) and memory. but thats not until next year.

Anyway i am over the moon, hehe.

Cheers guys!

Thats a pretty decent benchmark for 06 considering the price of even 2 of those cards... I'm only getting about 2000 points more with a gpu setup that cost almost twice as much...

I'd hazard a guess tho that your CPU is holding you back a bit...

Yep, I agree about the wavemaster - a great looking case. Also the centurian 5 from the same time, this was coolermaster's best period for case design I think.
Great job you've done with the cableing there too.
I think dual core is probably the best new thing in PC's in the last few years.
Nice upgrade!
