it all started with my macbook froze, well i am guessing so, i was doing some photoshop work then i went down stairs, to talk to my nan. come back up woke macbook up & it looked fine but no icon/buttons would respomd by mouse was able to move.

i turnt it off left it off for 10 seconds it rebooted it.

and ever since i can bootup my macbook Apple logo popups up then circle thing spins, blue screen popups on my both macbook & external screen then desktop appears and then within 2 seconds, it drops to ablack screen and never returns!

any ideas on what i should do? i do have apple care its a Macbook white 2.2ghz 4GB 120GB HDD

Edit it seems related to, external video output. i booted up the macbook with nothing attacted worked correctly but soon as i plugged in External Video cable it went black. and never comes back even if the video cable is unplugged.

Any ideas on what i should do?

i might go to apple store tomorrow? anything else i can try? what should i take should i take the apple care package?

How old is the laptop, is it the model with the nVidia chipset that had the problems? Sounds as though it could be that which has failed, in which case it's recognised by Apple and they'll fix/replace it FoC

Sounds similar to a problem I had with my mac mini - it could actually be the monitor. Can you try an alternative monitor or try the monitor on a different computer?

it fixed it self, left it off for a while and its back

to answer your questions its Intel Video card X3100 White macbook its 2 years old.

Its not the monitor as my Windows Machine is fine

just to update, i am getting random oddities now, somtimes booting up my macbook both screens go blue as aspected but never move from this point

and somtimes when the Macbook is a sleep it and awoken the macbook is unresposive to Mouse Commands & somtimes turns black.

im going to go to the apple store with my macbook to have a genuis look at it i also take the miniVGA to DVI converter incase its just that.

do i need to do anything before? or take anything else?

what will they do? keep it and try to test it or simply replace the videocard.board and give it back to me?
