My Machine Dead :(

Hi all,

When I started my PC up today it would not turn on. The Hard drive LED flashes and the fans jolt into action for a split second but then everything goes dead again. My motherboard has a LED on it which is on the whole time so I know it must be getting some power.

my brother had trouble with it the day before when it was last working (Hes not a dunce so he cant have done something to kill it) I have tried disconnecting all pheripheral hardware and resetting the BIOS by taking out the battery and setting the jumper but still nothing.

The only things I can think of is that its the power supply or the motherboard. These are my specs:

Hiper 425W Power supply
Asus A8N SLi Premium
AMD 4000+
nVidia 7950 GT
2gb RAM
3 SATA HDD
Windows Vista

I do but its some old dell with a P3 in it. May not be powerful enough to start up my machine because it has a 7950 GT in it. Would the only way be to buy another PSU. Also, I think the PSU is still under warranty so how long to Hiper take to get back to you?

lol, looks like I will have two PSU's soon and I can tell you that one of them will NOT be a Hiper. That brings me onto the next question.

Spec me a PSU. Enough for the spec listed above and maybe a bit more. I dont want to spend very much and want a relatively quite PSU. Mainly though I want one which is efficient to please the green goblin inside me.
