I have a canon powershot A620, and i really enjoy taking macro shots, so i have uploaded some of my favourites and would like some comments about them. the one titled 'my eye again' is probably the poorest of the bunch as i havent done anything with it.

just watch out for the huge image sizes.

They are hooooooge and don't resize in FF or IE  :o

Very poor way to showcase your work, and also a bad idea for image protection.

Im sorry to agree but there is no point offering work that big unless your main aim is for people to steal it for their own use. Showcase your work with the intentions of people using screen resolutions of 800x600 or 1024x768.

To view one of your macro shots I would have had to download a copy to my computer and open it with the system viewer.

lol
I thought, Naw, they can't be THAT huge...will have a look
urrm, no!
1200 is a great showcase size as people can't print them that well but they fill most people's screens
1600x if you're feeling frisky, but seeing as people have gone TFT in the main now 1200 is a standard screen rez

In a hurry? how fast is your internet connections upload speed o_0 - at that res it would take ages to upload 1 image on my 2mb cable line :o :o

Hmm, well I don't want to sound nasty but there really isn't any subject matter or composition or focal point in any of the visible ones there :/ They do look just like snapshots and nothing more but only at this stage.

Have a look at www.photo.net to learn the rules of photography and image composition and shoot some more, then more and more. The great thing about photography is the more you shoot the more familiar you get with it regardless of camera used and you become your own critic slowly too.

Most importantly browse photo sites and member galleries, there are some awesome folks on deviantart but there are also really, really pants ones so look out for those ones :s - photo.net will have everything you need and look at other peoples works too, get inspiration and try out the ones you like yourself to see if you can do it too or go one step beyond!

It won't happen quick but it WILL happen and you WILL see things differently, it just takes time that's all and that's understandable :)

since nobody has given ANY views on the photos.
I'd agree with mrk comments; you've got a selection of macro photographs there, but not a selection of macro photography. It does rather seem like you've switched on the macro mode and looked for things to take a picture of.

However, like the man says, practicing your technique is the best way to improve your skills and I'm sure you'll develop the necessary 'macro eye' for what you want to do.
