My main concern!

Dear members,

I have created two threads before and people have helped. I have chosen the parts and I am ok with all of that.

However, because it's my first build, I am not really confident, once I order all of my parts and they are here. I have read couple of guides of how to build a new rig.

Now, the main concern is when I finish building the PC, and switch it on. Do I need to play with the Bios? Do I need to update it in anyway? Can I just insert Windows Vista and install it straight away? I don't really want to play with those voltages and other options. Will it tell me how to do so in the manual?

Best Regards

You should be able to install everything pretty much straight away, only tweaking settings if you want that extra bit of performance.

Built a core2duo system recently and didnt touch the bios / anything, just had to reset CMos which takes 5 seconds and formatted.

The only thing you may have to do is set the manfacutrers stated Memory Frequency, Timmings and voltages which is very simple other than that you dont really have to touch anything in the BIOS.

Dont worry about it though, plenty of people here that ar willing to give you a hand.

Dont forget though that if your using 4gig of RAM that vista may not install (i spent hours figuring this out), installing vista with 2gig of RAM, updating it so it gets the fix then reinstalling the other 2 gig works fine though.

i've installed vista on 4gb before?

Ok thanx for the input guys. I more sure, I will be creating another threads once I start working on it. I am going to have OCZ 2GB of RAM.
