Ok just finshed the first part of my H50 mod,by adding a thermaltake resevoir and a fan shroud. The h50 is set up as fan is intake,shroud,rad,fan(push/pull), i have two 120 fans just above this as exhaust.
My 955 is overclocked just a little to 3.6GHz 18x200,and 1.3750 Vcore, all other setting are auto, room temp was 21c when i ran intelburn test, screenshot below

You may find it works better with the top fans as intake, and the H50 push pull as exhaust. Currently there is a risk of drawing in the hot air from your graphics card.

This neatly removes worries about coolant evaporating through the tubing, nicely done.

There is also a 120mm fan at the base of the tower which is a intake, and the case is approx 80mm of the floor the platform that hold the resevoir has ventalation holes so the cool air circulates around the resevoir.

Reminds me, I also get round to installing a few shrouds on the old H50 in my case...

All I can say is my cpu cooling arrangement is bigger than most air coolers right now :p

Just waiting on two more 120mm fans to turn up and I might post a picture.

Not convinced its any cooler but since I didn't do any proper measurements and also changed overclocking modes/set all fans to silent... tricky to tell, too much work to set them all back again ^_^

36 from 21 ambient looks pretty good for a load test :)

Not greatly.

Puts a buffer zone between the fan blades and whatever the air is being drawn/pushed through which probably makes it quieter.

Nice modding, a few questions for you if you dont mind, how did you go about removing the black stock piping from the cpu block and rad, thought it was welded or glued in place, is it easy to do as wouldn't mind doing something like this myself, also what size tubing did you get and how do you make sure they stop on, and do you have any pics of it as you were doing it.

Sorry no picture of the mod didnt think to take any, but will try to explain what i did. The black tubing on the H50 is heat shrunk on i think?
THE RADIATOR---
I had to cut the tubing along the barbs with a scalpel and then it came off easy
THE PUMP---
On the bottom of the pump (copper side) there is a ring of screws you only need to remove two of these, see picture

Inside the pump between the two tubes you will see a screw and washer (they hold the pipes and barbs in place i think) Once this is removed the barbs will pull out from the block BE CAREFULL you need to have the tube at the bottom when removing so the fluided does not get into the pump motor or circut board, once barbs are out cut tubing as before, be careful of the two 'o' ring seals on the barbs that fit into the block, these seal the barb into the block.

THE TUBING-- the tubing i used was 6mm ID ,10mm OD this is a tight fit, heat the tubing in a cup of boiling water to soften and push over the barbs, on my H50 the tube on the right side with the logo the right way up above it is the inlet.
Hope this help you happy modding
