I got a new fairly cheap monitor last christmas as mine died a death.

what I purchased was this:

https://www.overclockers.co.uk/asus...g-widescreen-led-monitor-black-mo-093-as.html

(apologies admin posted the wrong link)

the picture is lovely and clear and performs well in game. However its just dull really lifeless with its colour spectrum.

I am currently wanting a second monitor I would like them to match. its either buy another one of these or get 2 new monitors

budget of ~£300 for both.

edit: I'm running a 970gtx if that makes any difference

That's fine just don't expect the best for £150 a piece mate :) your better off looking at second hand

thinking about it you are probally right, I will just end up with 2 monitors that don't quite do it for me.

can always get the LG like you said and use my current monitor as the spare for browsing

It'll do some garish things to some images , but you might want to try jacking up the digital vibrance in Nvidia control panel colour settings. Works a treat (mostly). Somethings will look awful, but most things will look better. I suggest you also play with gamma and contrast, and download an IPC profile for your monitor that was made by somebody who knows what they were doing. All this is free and will help a lot.

Thanks I shall have a look at those.

i plyed with a few settings last night which made gameplay vibrant but everything else looked utterly horrendous!

so speaking to the mrs she asked why I don't just drop a decent amount of money on a monitor.

my reply.... well I think I will :D bring on black friday sales hopefully grab myself a bargain.

noticed with the IPS panels that a lot have around 5ms response. would I even notice the difference going from 1-5?

I'm not very clued up on monitors its all quite confusing
