There is an abut 1 inch black out area. Why? Before my 2nd monitor update it was showing full screen. Now added 23 inch monitor and its gone like that.

Also when connected via DVI I could set it to 120mhz. Now connected via HDMI and can only set it to 60mhz?
Why?

HELP. ta

HDMI will not do 120hz

When using HDMI you will often get over/underscan applied by the graphics card. Go into CCC/Nvidia control panel and set to 0.

set what to 0?

Also should i do a cable over convertor so that it links it like it was?

Link put new monitor back in DVI 120mhz full hd and old crap monitor vga to hdmi convertor?

Which will be better connect old vga monitor via converter to HDMI or mini display port?

Am using amd oem 7850 2gb. thanks

Its set to overscan 0.

If I use dual link dvi then same pic on 2 screens. That no solution at all.

Ok i know what will work.

1. will run new 120mhz monitor dvi to dvi at full HD mode.

2. old monitor vga to hdmi.

I am so good. You know that.

Please correct me if am wrong. ta

Digital HDMI to analogue VGA isn't going to work.

I assume you have mini DisplayPort connectors so you'll need a miniDP to VGA adapter if the only connection your second monitor has is VGA.

Alternatively a miniDP to DP adapter with a DP to VGA adapter.

Not sure if they're all active or if you specifically need an active VGA adapter if only running 2 monitors.

Card has 2 mini dp's. And old monitor only has vga. So will do as you said. VGA to mini dp cable. Thanks for pointing that out. Old monitor has only 1440x900 resolution of 75hz..

Do oc's have such device?

Also why does hdmi not work to vga when there are cables for this conversion already.

Also tryied connecting old monitor to dvi i on motherboard but dvi i plug is different to the one am using with converter.

Would motherboard support vga monitor whilst have second monitor running of my amd 7850?

Just plug your second monitor into the VGA port on the motherboard and see what happens.

It's the simplest and cheapest solution if it works OK.

Make sure the integrated GPU isn't disabled in the BIOS or Device Manager.

You may need to install the drivers for the integrated GPU if you haven't already.

tHANKS Surveyor your a star man with good solutions. I plugged in new monitor to motherboard and old to vga. Enabled integrated gfx and nothing! ONly old monitor working.

newS update:

oK. DOwnloaded drivers. Plugged new monitor in to montherboard and old mointor to gfx. Its working. However, new monitor only works at 60mhz. Not 120....

And main monitor for games is running of hd4000 gfx and old is running of amd 7850. I want this the other way round!

So might just have to get mini dp adapter to get full 120mhz. Thanks anyway.
