My Mouse is skipping, but...

I had it in vista in games, for no reason my mouse skipped in games but was fine in windows and the fps were fine too ( keyboard movement was smooth, when mouse froze the movements by kb were still silky smooth...

The hdd with vista died tho and after a reinstall it was gone.

Hi guys. Yeah I did think about bringing the receiver closer but then again, its a £60 mouse, it shouldn't need it in my opinion. But yeah I may purchase an USB extension.... any recommendations? do OCuk sell any?

can you not temporarily test the mouse on another pc like a laptop where the ports aren't behind the case and you have clear LOS?

Ebay/MM would be a good place to look for usb extension cables

Yes they do, Belkin model much like the one that came with my Belkin Bluetooth adapter.

Seems very odd that it doesn't work due to interference, my receiver generally sits on my desk but I've got a G7 and I've tested it up to about 20 feet away and through walls before and it still works.

//edit sid, the receiver is RF so line of sight shouldn't matter in the least. I'm not saying that it definitely won't as PCs can do strange things but it shouldn't matter in theory.

Thanks for the link. Looks perfect. and cheap too. I was just looking at 4-port USB hubs. Couldn't decide which one was for me.

My mouse works from a big distance too. even in the next room I can skip (next and previous) music with this mouse.

Hey my mouse doesn't seem to be acting up anymore..... strange how it has stopped.

If there is no LOS then, you are relying on reflections of the signal which result iin skipping as signal from the mouse is also relying on reflections to get to the receiver.

Also if you case case is below a glass desk like in my case with a aluminium mousemat, the mouse skips easily.

Having said that though, I had a mx1000 mouse before which didn't have any of the above issues as it had a receiver which was built into the charging cradle and hence separate from the Pc case.

Well, I was temporarily using my friends logitech wireless mouse on my comp, and it did the same thing.... But if I used my mouse on his comp, Im sure it will be fine? you know what, Im gonna try it and see what happens..........

Oh, whats LOS?

What keyboard are you using? I started having similar problems with my MX Rev, thought it was broken, but I deduced that it started happening at the same time i got my new S510 keyboard set. Turns out that the keyboard set was expecting a mouse signal from the mouse that came with the keyboard, even though I had never connected it (i.e using the connect button on the reciever and on the mouse). I had to disconnect (in setpoint) my S510 keyboard and mouse, and only reconnect the keyboard. Havent had any problems since.

Cheers anyway though.
Mouse is fine now for some reason. But I will still purchase that extension cable on previous page.

*UPDATE*

I stood on my usb reciever and bent it slightly, it doesnt work any more unless I have it supported which is annoying, so with all the problems I've had with this S*** mouse I called Logitech support and after all the riff raff, they are going to send me a new mouse (YAY!) .....as soon as they have some in stock

My problems:
Skipping mouse
glitchy customised buttons
charging problems (red light)

They said when I receive my new mouse they want me to send them my broken reciever and power plug.
