My MSI RMA Experience...

My experience with MSI rma was positive, when one of the fan failed my gtx 580.

All I sent was the card, nothing else and they gave me a new retail box with all the accessories. Don't know if they gave me a new card or my old card with a new fan, didn't really bother me as long it was working perfectly.

All company's have issues , but none more so then MSI. I will never and I mean never buy another MSI product ever again.

I think that's an exaggeration. To MSI's credit, they have a good turnaround, something that most would be grateful for once they've experienced HIS/XFX.

Agreed, the turnaround was pretty good, roughly 11 working days, just the lack of communication and the aftermath that leaves a sour taste in the mouth.

It's a shame such a good company that makes epic products has let so many down recently :(

I don't think so. Too each their own I guess.

There's truth in that, but saying that MSI have the most problems is simply wrong - at least with MSI you get a card without having to fight for it!

Had a couple of MSI products and used their tech support a few times too.
All good for me.
Certainly not a crap company there are far worse.

Agreed, other places are supposed to be a lot worse.

Seem to have a less than average clocker, it'l do BE clocks with BE volts, but won't hit 1200 on BE volts, I'll slap it under water next weekend and see what max volts brings to the table.

This is bad. Im soo glad i picked up the GB and not MSI 660 now!

Rmas always make me feel sick its a lot of stress to go through specially when its 450 quid!!

Hmm, little off topic but I just sent my PSU off for repair this week and I packed everything with it inside the original box...I figured sending off everything would avoid them billing me or costing more in shipping if they wanted the accessories in the case of a full replacement.

So if they send just the PSU back I won't have a kettle lead or anything else to rewire the computer with :p I hope they use some common sense :(

blah, blah blah:p

The truth hurts don't it:)

Hurts who? He moved on from an MSI card, so did I. I don't think anyone actually "cares" in that way. It's just a bit silly hyping this issue up so much.

In my case, it ended up being a bonus since I got better cards for the same price as the MSIs.

It would seem that as soon as stocks are gone then the lifetime warranty is worthless.

Are they likely to have stocks of your card beyond the more common 2/3 year warranty period you get with other manufacturers?

PNY Technologies, Inc. Lifetime Replacement Warranty is given to all PNY® Verto® Graphics Cards. This warranty is for replacement for like items only. Lifetime Replacement warranty does not cover items out of production if PNY no longer stocks them. (Lifetime is defined as the lifetime of the product on the market. Outdated technology is not covered by lifetime warranty if the item is no longer available on the common market as a new product.) This warranty is not assignable. PNY's sole obligation under this warranty is to replace or, at its option to repair, with new or remanufactured product, free of charge, with like or similar product, all the product's defective parts.

You do realise that the purpose of most businesses is to make a profit?

From the small one man band to the largest corporations.

And what does a central European country have to do with it?

Yeah that's the point I'm trying to get across no company is good since profit is what matters.

Sorry iPad auto correction again...

Just because a company aims to make a profit doesn't mean it can't be "good" (however you define that).

I'm sure no company is perfect but there are plenty who provide good products, good service and a good customer experience while still aiming to make a profit.
