My msn hacked & I'm also being stalked/harrassed! HELP!

A female friend has fallen in love with me but she's nuts! Has stalked me, left notes on my car windscreens, sent me approx 1,400 texts, hundreds of emails & a handful of letters/postcards. She's ultra intelligent but alas ultra ugly & so not my type!. I was nice to her at first to kindly and gently tell her I'm not interested but she became obsessed with me!

I did totally ignore her attempts to contact me for several months but it just made her worse and worse then she got my ex gf involved which I find SO embarrassing, she's also caused problems amonst my friends and she's also admitted trying to find photo's of me on friends websites like Bebo!

I found out at one point she was telling people we are boyfriend and girlfriend....crikes! a true nutter. Some of the notes she leaves me are signed using my surname.

She also has a GUN! Police have been informed but they think she is lying but I believe her cuz she's nuts but they will check it out.

Actually been to the Police tonight cuz this girl used to go too oxford uni and one of her friends now works for microsoft and she threatened months ago to change my msn password and lo and behold a few days ago she did! She even had the cheek to text me a new password for my msn! I've had the same password for 7 years so I'm quite cheesed off. The Police officer with respect hardly knew what msn was! Kept saying why don't i simply change my password (which i have) but it's not this simple as the girl can simply get her mate from microsoft to do whatever he did in the first place!

The Police will only give the girl a friendly warning to leave me alone but I'm quite sure this will not be enough as she gets a perverse kick out of causing me problems and god she's so manipulative! If she was blonde and fit I'd be in heaven but never mind lol.

Changing my mobile number is a no no.

I would love to have more advice please guys 'n' gals. My post is a tad emotional as I'm frustrated but please feel free to ask me to clarify any matters.

Is it easy to get a restraining order?

Get a notebook or a diary. Note down every contact, no matter what - text, email, everything. When, where, what, etc. Save the originals as well if you can (print emails etc.)

You also need to be absolutely clear on what you want - no wavering.

This should give you some material to go back to the police and ask for things like restraining orders with.

If it's genuine stalking, and not just obsession and over-hyping here (evidence as above will decide that), then it's not a laughing matter. Not wanting to put the frightners on, but proper stalking can end in assault, destruction of property, even murder. Not good.

I agree. We guessed a mates secret answer and he was convinced he got hacked as he chose a super secure password blah blah blah.

Shame his secret question and answer was something like: What colour is the sky?

Talk to a solicitor. Although unlikely, if indeed her mate at Microsoft is giving out your details willy nilly, she is liable to get into a lot of trouble. A solicitor will be better able to advise you of your rights and how to go about getting a restraining order on this psycho. If the proof is there that her mate has given out your details, she can be prosecuted with very hefty consequences.

Take Berserkers advice and go see a solicitor.
