my multi keeps chaning

That said though, Eist is a deliberate feature to save power by only giving you the extra CPU speed when you need it. It'll save your electricity bill & doesn't reduce performance AFAIK. Why do you need to turn it off ? (It's common to turn it off during overclocking but I believe it's fine to turn back on after you have your stable clock).

if its me your replying to its because i installed me system in a new case and the cpu temp was 10 degrees below what it was so i decided to oc a bit but when i did my multiplier(no idea how) lowered from 17-14 and so loosing 600mhz in the process from 3.4ghz-2.8

Well, I was replying generally to the thread.
EIST works by lowering the multiplier as a way of lowering the CPU speed to save power. So your overclock should still be there but only under load. That said, I don't have your system, so if you are having problems with the EIST feature, then fair play turn it off. I was only making the point that all other things being equal, it's a worthwhile feature.
