Can someone explain to me how I can "sync" my iTunes library between my PC and my laptop without having to manually copy the music folder?

You can either do it manually, point your laptop at the music folder on your PC (which is a bit flaky, but it'll work. It's just a bit of a pain in the arse), or iTunes Match might be what you're after - £21 a year though.

Storing all of your music on a network drive would work nicely (assuming the laptop doesn't need your music library if/when you take it out.

No making life easy for yourself there then :p

Best thing would be to just copy the music over. Just open the location of your music across the network and drag it all into iTunes.
Then, for the future, there's a folder called 'Automatically Add to iTunes.' Make a link to that folder then when you add music to either library also drop it in there and it'll be added to the other library too.

Use syncback to keep folders in sync over a network?

Ive used it before via SMB's, works fine.

Thanks, think I will look into this.

I guess I can make it sync from my PC, then as I add music, it'll be copied to the music folder or a random folder on the laptop, which iTunes will add to the library automatically?

I don't really want to end up with two copies of the music on the laptop.
