My MX518 has started failing!

Ive done this and its fixed!!!! The scroll wheel is now operating once again, the MX518 lives another day! I owe you a beer sir :D

My only question is, is the scroll wheel "feel" meant to be a 'smooth scroll' or it is mean to be, like ridgy? (if that makes sense) - Just its very smooth when scrolling, just wondering if I put it back together right!! and I cant remember what it used to be like :p

Woo hoo!

Definitely clicky on all my MX518s.

Hmm, interesting, I've taken it all apart again and can't see anywhere inside for the wheel to have any other feel than a smooth scroll

So turns out I somehow managed to lose one of the springs from inside, that generates the clicky scroll....Not sure how as its fairly distinctive and i haven moved it from the vicinity it is currently in?!

So decided to get a 2nd hand mx518 off eBay for the parts and as a spare, turns out its actually in rather good condition, hardly any wear on it at all, so i'm just using that replacement one instead!

Hey guys, not sure if anyone can help/point me in right direction, but my trusty MX518 mouse has stopped working properly, the mouse wheel no longer scrolls! Ive tried cleaning it as much as possible, but think its aged now

I have looked for a replacement, but they are £100+!? i bought this one about 6-7 years ago!
Is there another out there, similar? Ideally, Logitech, i love the feel of it so dont really want to change it too drastically....

£100?

I just checked Ebay and they are going on there for like £10?

I still use my MX518. It's still in perfect working order!

My left mouse button is a bit sticky on mine, as in it's slow to return after a click sometimes..

... but i guess that's just accumulated dust and dirt, and a dismantle and cleanup would fix it?

Yeah more than likely, if you take it apart, you can see the left mouse clicky button knob (for lack of a better word lol)
