After about two years fairly reliable service, my router has died on me today. Tried various power supplies, ethernet cables etc and although all the lights are on, I can't connect in any way to the internet. The unit does get very warm and sometimes would only work after powering off for a few hours and letting it and the psu cool down. I have tried that today too without any joy.

I'm using a BT homehub atm which is fine for surfing and wireless but I find its very unreliable for online gaming, with connections dropping out on a regular basis.

Is there anything out there worth considering as a replacement, up to about £60? I had looked at a Belkin N Wireless Router (with Simple Security Set Up & High-speed Internet Connection 300 Mbps) but not sure if its a good buy for gaming.

Any advice would be much appreciated. Thanks.

Was thinking of staying with Netgear having read around a bit and ruling out the Belkin. But its been a right pain havin to power off for hours on end when the unit would stall. Something a little more reliable would be nice.

Ive had so many issues with mates Belkin its not even funny. Id get a nice linksys or a Netgear box. Pretty much what Duke recommended.
