330d Sport

Usual options (no leather though), plus the satnav/carphone kit.

It currently has no cd changer in it, but has the wiring for it. So I will be picking one up off the auction site.

80,000 miles

Cant wait to pick it up! :D

Very nice

Chip it ;) :D
I'll will probably get the remap at some point - maybe a year or so. I need to get used to the current power first - Im coming from a Pug 306 DTurbo! :)

:D - Nice one mate! How much did you end up paying in the end? I do like that colour a lot. I love mine to bits, it will eat anything on the motorway! I'm going to get it re-mapped in a couple of months to take it to around 220bhp. One thing that you may dislike is the Stereo - mainly because it's rubbish. I've just today bought a high level amp to plug in between the head unit and the speaker loom which I've been told works wonders. It's called the Sony 'Sound on Top' amp, and I got it off ebay for £31. What car is it replacing?

Seems like we're making it standard issue for Auditors ;)

It was £12k - same as yours. :)

As I said above, its replacing a 97 Pug 306 DTurbo. :)

That sucks about the stereo - I will have to do some research, and see whats best. :)

Yours still ok mate?

Just found out that the grill is not a 330d grill! Also, the light inserts should be black. I was already aware that the bonnet had been resprayed, but I didnt know anymore than that.

I wonder if the front bumper is also new

Very nice but someone has gone and stuck an extra set of doors on it than it should have. :p

The original owner may have choosen silver when it was first ordered, I know that's one of the things you can change.

But if it has had all those bits replaced best make sure it has been an sort of serious accident.

I think he did chose the silver, or "titanium" that it is according to someone over at BMWland. :)

1 day to go! :D

Have you picked it up yet mate?

I fitted my Sony Sound on Top amp today - makes a world of difference for very little money, and it's easy to fit too - highly recommended!
Yeah Ive got it and its great! :D

Nice :D. Am I right in thinking it's got the Sat-Nav unit (with the TV). If so can you take a picture of it for me, I was thinking of retro-fitting one to mine.
No its sat nav without the tv Im afraid. Its only voice instructions.

I have to decide what to do about the stereo - I dont even have a cd changer fitted at the moment! Im digging out some old cassettes just so I dont have to put up with Radio 1! lol....

Lol :D. I think a CD changer will be quite cheap off fleabay. I also think the wiring loom should be in the boot ready for you to just plug it in - you might want to double check this though.

If your head unit has a "mode" button under the AM/FM buttons, you should be able to just plug the changer in.
Yeah, I'm pretty sure it will fit straight in with no problems. Im thinking of getting the more expensive Alpine one - hopefully with a better sound!

In the long term I might go the whole hog and spend ~£1000 on a decent install of some sort. I would like it to be OEM-style though. We'll see. :)

Out of interest, how do you enter your journey information into the sat nav? Does it recognise postcodes when spoken to? Does your car have any other voice operated features?

Mine has the button on the steering wheel, but I don't think it does anything.

There is a little joystick thing to enter postcodes. I dont think it has voice recognition.

The only voice features is of course the carphone - but the handset is missing. Basically, pretty useless!

Ive just this minute ordered the Alpine changer from the 'bay. I didnt get the mp3 one, as I dont think I would use that feature.

The problem with the grill, so I'm told, is that the vertical bars inside the kidneys should be chrome on a 330d (like Nick's) rather than the black on mine. I'm not really bothered tho tbh. :)

Thanks for your help. :)

Hi there

Sweet ride, always liked the BMW 330D's very underated cars that will leave most high powered petrol cars standing. :)
Thanks mate :)

Esp when remapped to 260bhp, plus a silly amount of torque! :D

No, they shouldn't. BMW didnt offer this, its a common (bling upgrade) amongst a certain 'group of people' shall we say... so dont worry about it...
Ah, that conflicts with what I was told elsewhere. I'm not bothered tho.

Thanks for your advice. :)
