In heaven I get 50fps ,does that seem about right???? But when I play say bfbc2 and cod4,and black ops don't see anything different from old 4890 bfbc2 is far from smooth with all settings on max.

Yeah something is seriously wrong here. The 5850 is noticeably faster than the 4890. The 6970 is noticeably faster than the 5850. This is going by game benchmark reviews but as they are getting these improvements then you should be too. Good luck with the re-install, I hope it works out for you.

Ok windows back on but I won't install the 10.12 drivers so have installed ones from disk witch are 10.11 so it says in the catalyst ,then tried the new drivers but still says 10.11 not 10.12 ????????

Just run heaven again

FPS 54.9
score 1383

Min FPS 34.3
Max FPS 137.4

All set as standard no over clocking of card

Whar are you expecting to see? If your getting 60fps in BFBC2 with slowdown during smoke and running DX11 i dont see any reason why anything isnt working.

no offense but a lot of people upgrade graphics cards and expect to see a mind blowing performance upgrade. It doesnt always work like that.

What resolution are you running games at?

yeah you have to remember that even though the menu in bc2 says the settings are the same, it is now running all the DX11 effects which your 4890 wasn't

you have to unistall the old drivers(10.11) before installing the new drivers(10.12).

Describe what you mean by different. Take BFBC2 for example... if you mean it doesn't 'look' any better.. have you tried increasing quality settings? If you mean it doesn't 'feel' any better... do you have v-sync on? You should be able to put every setting to max really with that new card (except maybe HBAO which is a resource hog). BCBF2 is really the only one we can try and diagnose here for you.

Cod4> Well I bet your 4890 was already killing this game (doing very well), so I doubt other than getting an obscenely high framerate you won't really notice any difference is my guess? Once again though.. is vsync on, and detail settings all on highest?

Black ops? No idea... did it already play well for you?

Black pops played very well on 4890.I think I was excepting the 6970 with dirctx11 to look a lot better than my old card did,at the moment I haven't tried bfbc2 yet as still tying to patch it but before it felt laggy with the mouse with every thing on max.and in ati controls every thing was on max

Well Black Ops is a dx9 game so switching to a dx11 card will not make it look any better.
In Bad Company disable vsync to remove the mouse lag, also the dx11 effects in BC2 are limited. I think the only differences are the smoother shadows over dx10, and just overall better performance.
