will be going to the first round of the specialised winter downhill series tomorrow so it arrived just in time. ill give it plenty of punishment and will hopefuly get some good pics.

wasn't sure if the non_DG was digital friendly...never know with sigma
DizMatt - the non dg versions work just fine on digital. the dg versions have a special coating on the lens elements thats supposed to improve image quality on digital sensors. as long as you get the later series of lenses. i.e - the ones in red and black boxes, not gold coloured boxes. - you should be fine.

DG means it has a 'special coating' and "are large-aperture lenses with wide angles and short minimum focusing distances. With an abundance of peripheral illumination, they are ideal lenses for Digital SLR Cameras whilst retaining suitability for traditional 35mm SLRs."
DC are the ones that only work on digital (like the 10-20 for example)
