Alright peeps,

Just ordered all the parts to build my new gaming rig, hopefully will have it built very soon and back on the gaming scene.

CPU: Intel Q6600 Quad Core - Energy Efficiant Version + Zalman Fan
Mobo - MSI P45 Platinum
Case - Coolermaster HAF 932
PSU - Coolermaser 700w
Memory - 4 GIG Corsair Dominator DDR2 / PC8500 - 1066mhz + Fan
GFX Card - NVidia BFG 285 GTX OC
HDD - Seagate Baracuda 500GB / 32MB Cache
Sony DVDRW
Keyboard - Razer Lycosa
Headset - Razer Piranha

Cant wait to get it built now - also ordering an Asus 22" HD Monitor tomorrow

lol i did check but i was double checking :P can always send things back anyway - so what areas would you improve thrifles?

nothing greatly HDD Id of gone for the Samsung Spinpoint F1, Id of possibly looked at a different mobo (not a fan of MSI) and depending on what you actually use it for I may of recomended a higher clocked C2D (if youre mainly a gamer) the quads are only worth it if youre into editing/encoding/modelling etc
Course its only my opinion on what Id do, theres certainly nothing wrong with your build so dont worry

Decent build but would have gone for:

CPU: Intel Q6600 Quad Core - Energy Efficiant Version + Zalman Fan If you are a gamer would have gone for an E8x00 chip. If your a video encoder etc. would have gone for a Q9550 over the Q6600. Q6600 is getting on a bit now...2 years old, 65nm etc.
Mobo - MSI P45 Platinum would have gone for a Gigabyte or Asus board.
Case - Coolermaster HAF 932 Personally don't like it, but whatever floats your boat. I would have gone for a stylish and simple Lian Li. Looking at one myself.
PSU - Coolermaser 700w fine...but would have gone for a Corsair/Zalman/Seasonic.
Memory - 4 GIG Corsair Dominator DDR2 / PC8500 - 1066mhz + Fan If you plan on overclocking the nuts off the Q6600 then ok. would have just gone for the cheaper ram imo and put the spare towards a Q9550
GFX Card - NVidia BFG 285 GTX OC Overpowered. would have gone for a 4870 and put the spare towards a Q9550
HDD - Seagate Baracuda 500GB / 32MB Cache Samsung Spinpoint F1 500GB would have been my choice
Sony DVDRW Never liked Sony...would have gone LG or Samsung
Keyboard - Razer Lycosa Over priced @ £64. would have gone for a G11 or Siatek III
Headset - Razer Piranha For gamers today it is a case of buy the best sound qaulity and get a cheap desktop mic. Need to do taht myself. would have gone for a pair of Sennheiser headphones and then a Logitech desktop mic.
What mouse and mouse pad? :)

Anyways...enjoy your new build :D

Personal preference for the rest i suppose, i dont mind paying the small ammount extra for pc8500 - and yes i am gonna be clocking my cpu

Fair enough, but the point I and the others were making where, you don't need to get the PC2-8500 as the PC2-6400 will take the Q6600 to 3.6Ghz. But each to their own (I have PC2-8500 and a Q6600 at only 3.6Ghz... so a bit hypocritical but hey :p).
